eamesĀ® molded plywood folding screen
One of the earliest of Charles and Ray Eames' designs in molded plywood, the screen is also one of the most beautiful expressions of the material ever conceived. We've never seen anyone encounter it for the first time without reaching out to touch it. (Yes, Virginia, it's all wood.) Use it to divide space, provide privacy, build a striking backdrop of undulating wood in any room. Originally developed with canvas hinges, the sections of the screen are now hinged with a durable woven polypropylene mesh to ensure a longer life without compromising the integrity of the 1946 design. Each of the six sections is about 10 inches wide.
This 6-paneled, 5-ply screen has natural face veneers with lightweight maple inner plies. It stands alone to create standing or seated privacy and divisions within an environment. Each molded plywood section is connected by woven polypropylene mesh.
eames screen dimensions: 60"w · 68"h
