The reissue of Architectural Pottery is rooted in good design. Award winning architects and designers were commissiond to create contemporary forms of timeless designs.

Vessel USA Inc. was founded in 1998 to revive stunningly simple planters and other ceramic designs that brought acclaim to the Architectural Pottery Collection, a Los Angeles company founded in 1950 by Max and Rita Lawrence. Prominent mid-century LA architects such as Richard Neutura and Pierre Koenig favored the pottery line for spare, geometrically ordered residential gardens and commercial buildings. The Museum of Modern Art in New York exhibited pieces as early as 1951.

Bowls and planters are available in natural bisque and a varity of matt or glossy glazes. Bisque (natural unglazed finish) will acquire a natural patina which becomes increasingly handsome with age.

For indoor use, it is recommended to keep an eye on the moisture levels so that your plants don't sit in overly wet soil. For outdoor use, a drainhole may be drilled to maintain proper drainage. Ceramic containers should never be subject to freezing.

A drain hole can be drilled into vessels for $5. You must request this when ordering.
