storer 1 wall sconce Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright
Built in Los Angeles, California, in 1924, the John Storer House is a
Wright landmark celebrated both for its construction technique and for the
patterning of its exterior surface. The house was constructed with concrete
blocks, supported by a series of narrow steel rods placed horizontally and
vertically within concealed joints. Cast with ornate geometric designs, the
concrete blocks were often perforated with glass inserts. The delicate
steel rod construction of the floor lamps originally designed by Wright
referred to the structure of the house itself.
The materials and
proportions of the original Storer 1 Floor Lamp have been reinterpreted for
the Storer Wall Sconce, suitable for a variety of interior applications. UL approved, one 60W incandescent (frosted) bulb, candelabra base. Shade is
inside frosted clear glass, body and base are black painted steel and
aluminum.
